What Is SDCM?

SDCM vs. CRI – What's the Difference?

SDCM measures how consistent colour is between multiple light sources of the same rated temperature. It's about uniformity – whether two "3000K" strips actually look the same.

You can have a CRI 95 strip with poor SDCM (colour mismatch between reels) or a CRI 80 strip with excellent SDCM (perfectly consistent but lower colour quality). For professional installations, you need both – high CRI and low SDCM.

How to Spot Colour Mismatch

Colour inconsistency can take several forms:
